Open brewer position at Too Old To Die Young

About Too Old To Die Young

Too Old To Die Young is a Danish craft brewery founded in September 2021 by four experienced guys with various backgrounds in the beer scene. Our company has been off to a flying start, and ever since we started we have released more than 20 different beers, brewed five collaborations with other craft breweries and participated at several beer festivals including MBCC 2022 and opened up our own bar and bottle shop in Copenhagen

Profile and philosophy

We brew the kind of beer we enjoy drinking ourselves. Anything from hoppy IPAs, heavy dark stouts and beer that interpret local or contemporary craft traditions. We brew at our own facility in Sønderborg, Denmark and collaborate with various breweries. Every aspect of our process is carefully considered and based on respect for the craft. We aim to challenge every format of beer, artwork and illustration to tell stories through our brews. We are curious and playful yet focused on quality and taste.

The position

Our brewery is experiencing massive growth in demand, and we are therefore looking for someone to join our team as our new brewer. You will become a permanent part of the team in Sønderborg together with our brewmaster Nickolai Vest where you will take care of the many different tasks in the microbrewery.

We are looking for the right person to become part of our team, so if you have worked in the brewing industry before, or if you are interested in working in a microbrewery and are up for solid training and eager to learn, send us an application.

You will be working closely together with the brewmaster, and you will share the following practical tasks together:

The brewery

Our brew system is a 1.000-liter semi-automatic Kaspar Schulz brewery that requires a fair amount of manual handling. The work involves brewing beer, cleaning, various practical tasks, brewing calculations, etc

Canning and kegging

We are both filling our beer in kegs and cans at the brewery. The work involves preparation, cleaning, technical adjustments, maintenance etc.

Cellar work

Cellar work is all the work with our beer when it has left the brewing system and is in the fermentation tanks. It involves cleaning of fermentation tanks, dry hopping, CO2 regulation, various measurements, etc.

The shop

We are planning on opening a small bottle shop at the brewery with 3-4 opening days a week depending on season. During the opening hours we are normally brewing, cleaning etc. but we take the time to help out our visiting customers.

We are a microbrewery that is constantly aiming to develop – both in terms of processes, but also in terms of developing new flavors and new ways of using ingredients. Therefore, we prioritize a high theoretical knowledge about beer.

If you’re already working in the brewing industry, we will spend a few hours every other week talking theory, development and new products.

If you are not already in the brewing industry, you can expect to be introduced to the simplest processes in a brewery, including brewing process, bottling process, cleaning and including microbiology in a brewery. And every other week we will spend a few hours on theory and education.
